Wafer-Type Knife Gate Valve Features: The valve itself has no flanges. Long bolts are inserted through mounting holes in the valve to "clamp" the valve between two pipe flanges.

Knife Gate Valve Seat Material: Typically stainless steel (such as 304, 316) or carbide.

Manual Knife Gate Valve Type: Handwheel, handle, or gearbox actuated. Applications: Commonly used in applications with small orifice diameters, low pressures, or where frequent operation is not required.

The valve stem threads and nut are located outside the bonnet or bracket. During opening and closing, the valve stem moves upward and downward with the gate disc, while the handwheel remains in a fixed position.
